Our #3000 grit Super Ceramic Water Stone is designed primarily for rapid finishing of stainless steel high alloy steel and blue steel edges that are difficult to sharpen with other synthetic water stones. The sharpening action is very similar to a natural stone in that the surface has a bit of elasticity that keeps the tool from skidding. A 2-5/8 x 2 x 1 Nagura is included with each Super Ceramic Water Stone. Complete instructions for care and use are included.

A Nagura dressing stone is a small stone that can be used to create an abrasive slurry at the start of a sharpening session, and also for cleaning the surface of whetstones during sharpening sessions. A nagura does not remove as much material from your whetstone as more aggressive flattening stones do, making your whetstones more durable. However a nagura does not flatten a whetstone, so it is best used in between flattening sessions.
